Notes from the seller
Here is a very nice work of scrimshaw, from a local estate, signed by Peter Kinney. A local appraiser believes this to be mammoth tooth, or tusk. I offer 8 photos for your inspection. The piece is just 7″ tall(without mounting peg), measures 2 & 1/ 2″ wide at the bottom, tapering to 2 & 1/ 4″ at top. It weighs 15. 8 oz. A nice depiction of sailing ship-detail is noted in pics. Please check my recent feedback for a similar piece from the same estate, to compare! Shipping in the lower 48 will be $8. 25 priority mail, actual USPS cost to other locations. Accepting paypal only.

This auction began at 8:32 pm EST on September 7, 2008. It is going until 8:32 pm EST on September 14, 2008. The seller, slaytonshaker, will ship this item from Tacoma, Washington. It may be shipped to United States.

This item has a reserve price (a price under which the seller is not obligated to part with it), but it hasn’t been met yet. The seller can accept payment via PayPal or money order/cashier’s check.

Caribbean Pirate Ship ( Scale: 1: 90 ) Limited Black Sails Edition Beautiful Incredible Detail and the Best of Its Category! This is an accurate replica of an 18th century pirate ship, with its square-rigged foremast and fore-and‒aft sails on its main mast, the brigantine was fast, easy to maneuver and had twice the cargo space of a sloop. No wonder it became the favorite vessel of pirates. A typical brigantine carried as many as 100 pirates and mounted enough cannon to intimidate any possible target! This auction is for an exquisite 1: 90 scale wooden model of Caribbean Brigantine Corsair, with details including bound masts, yards with stun’s’l booms and foot ropes, carved full sails running … [more]
